I was starving and needed to get food and fast. Not wanting to cook after working a 9 hour shift, I decided to stop in here after running a few errands. The man at the counter was not very pleasant at all. He just kept saying "yes.. yes.. yes.." and then while I was ordering, he took a phone order and rang somebody out (...umm.. rude much?!?!) I ordered the basic combo platter: chicken with broccoli and garlic sauce on the side with fried rice and a portion of steamed dumplings. I was told ten minutes. Ok.. 6 minutes go by and the food comes out. A little fast.. no? I paid ($19 AND SOME CHANGE... WHAT THE WHAT?!?!), checked the bag and while doing so, the guy kept going "THANK youuuuuu... THANK youuuuuuu"... I asked for more sauce (because they are totally skimpy on the sauce, which, I might add is in these little cups with lids and are so watered down. YUCK!!) and drove home. The food: someone else in their review said they threw it away. I should have as well. This food is GOD awful. And when I say GOD awful, I mean GOOOOOOOOOD awful. The steamed dumplings-- how can you get steamed dumplings wrong? Well, this place does. They were doughy and tough. Tasted like they were bunt (as in freezer variety). I had to put them in a pan and sautee them a little more to get them warm and finished. The whole purpose of buying chinese food was so I didn't have to cook. *groans* The chicken and broccoli -- the chicken tasted funky, like as if the chicken had been sitting way too long. The broccoli had a plastic taste. The rice was far overcooked just by looking at the strands -- it shouldn't look like it's been beaten to death. The egg roll was also doughy and tough to chew on. I received no fried noodles, no sauce and two crummy tasting fortune cookies. Man.. skimp much for the price I paid!?!? Do yourself a favor and go to China Inn on Dekalb next to Dekalb Produce. That's where I'm heading now to get an actual DECENT chinese dinner!!!!

Golden Sea as gone way downhill. In fact, the last time we ordered take out I threw it away. I do find that their Chinese American food is better in house but sometimes it is still bland and gloppy. I think it is a shame because the service is good and the people are likeable but they are cutting a lot of corners and food quality is poor.

Had eaten here for over 15 years with my family as our go- to Chinese food place... until our last order. We picked up take out, and as I began to scoop some brown rice onto my plate, I discovered a dead bee. I was horrified. We packed the whole meal up and drove it back over to them. A bit hesitant to refund us in front of their Friday night dinner crowd, they did but blamed our discovery in that the bee was cooked with the rice. Whaaaat??! Never again.

Very, very, very good Chinese. Its actually the best that I've had in the suburbs. The reason for the 4 stars is that I got terribly sick after eating their spare ribs. I waited a few months, tried the spare ribs again, and proceeded to get violently sick yet again. I've never had any other problem with the place other than the spare ribs.

I love their chicken with broccoli, General Tsaos and egg rolls. Never had a bad dish. Great Chinese food in the suburbs. Nice people.

Egg foo young was burnt black thrown in a takeout container covered with gravy. It was a burnt soggy mess. I took it back the owner tore it apart with a fork, said inside ok, that's the way it's suppose to be. Was a great place at one time not any more. All she would do was argue. I had pizza for dinner. Won't go back!

I once came here many ago with some friends, and (being 14) ordered the only Chinese food I would eat at the time, which was fried rice. After finding a long, black hair in my food, I swore the place off for the next ten years. A few days ago, I decided a ten-year vendetta because of a single hair was unwarranted, and decided to try Golden Sea again with my family. I ordered the lunch special of Shrimp Chow Mein, which came with a bowl of egg drop soup, for $6.50. I figured no food is so bad that it is not worth $6.50. I was mistaken. The egg drop soup, for the record, was more than okay - a steaming bowl of velvety broth laden with silky shreds of salty egg. However, I do not know what the heck I ordered, but it was not Chow Mein. First of all, I thought Chow Mein definitively contains noodles. This, however, was over rice, which is not a problem in itself. The problem lay in the fact that someone had apparently ejaculated all over my shrimp. An even bigger problem was that it wasn't even tasty ejaculate. My shrimp and vegetables were coated in a viscous, tasteless layer of white, flavorless, semitransparent goo. I choked down a few bites before losing the will to live. If I ever have the misfortune to come here again, I will stick to the egg drop soup and call it a day.

If you want good Chinese at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend this place. They are good for both sit down and take out. Food is very good here. I especially like their Chow Fun Noodle dish (Order it dry) or the Bird's Nest Noodle Dish. They have all the usual Chinese food options here too. Another plus is the friendliness of the staff. The owners take pride in this place. They always have a big smile on their faces, dress smartly, and love to interact with their clients. Try this place for lunch. They have some pretty cheap lunch combos under $6.

Very pricey with tiny portions and bland sauces. I know to not expect Chinatown quality food in the suburbs but even the chicken with broccoli lacked flavor as did th moo goo gi pan. They seriously need to adjust the amount of cornstarch in their sauces. $35 for 2 "large" chicken ith broccoli and 1 small moo goo gai pan. They only gave us 1 small white rice. I could have gotten better and more food for the same price at pf chang's. .

Great Chinese food in the suburbs. The spring rolls are the best I've ever had. Ever. Love this place. The staff is always friendly. Strike up a conversation with the owners. The history adds to the experience. Great family business and theyre uber proud of their son. So much so that they have a digital album at the cash out desk :)

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant ever! I really miss living in Blue Bell, luckily my parents still do so I always make sure to get this while I'm visiting back home. The pork fried rice is the best I have gotten from anywhere! And the Won Ton soup is delish.

Hands down my favorite suburban go to for delicious Chinese food. My family and I have been going here for years. The owners are so nice and want to get to know their customers, and the rest of their staff and service go above and beyond to accommodate their customer's needs. Delicious hot and sour soup and Singapore noodles (my usual Chinese favorite dishes to get). Keep up the great work guys, I hope you're around for many more years! :-)

I have gotten takeout from here several times. The food is among the better of the nearby standard Chinese Places. Veggies are usually not overcooked and sauces aren't overbearingly salty. BUT the value of this place is just terrible. I ordered the beef with broccoli in the "pint" size for $7.75 and the container it came in was much smaller than any pint I've ever seen. I'm talking about a half portion for one person at best, for nearly $8! I ordered a quart of chicken egg drop soup (it was circled on the menu) and received the much smaller pint. For $5 that is highway robbery compared to other local places. Also, there was no chicken at all in the soup. In sum, Golden Sea is horrendously overpriced compared to comparably Chinese Food in the area, especially with their portions being so relatively small (and in the most recent case, blatantly getting my order wrong). The food is passable, but be warned and check your order!

This is one of the better Chinese places nearby however everything is over priced. If you need a last minute decent Chinese with a dining area, this is the place to go. Other than that, there's not much to it.

Pretty good, almost exactly what you'd expect for Chinese take out so no complaints really! Got their chicken & broccoli (with brown sauce), fried wonton, shredded scallop special meal (comes with pork fried rice and a egg roll), and pork lo mein. Only complaints were that the broccoli was a little soggy and the pork lo mein and pork fried rice were a little bland, but I'm a soy sauce addict so it worked out anyways! Very quick getting the food ready for us! Probably will get take out again if we don't feel like driving all the way to our fave Chinese take out place.

You either love this place or hate this place. I'm in the former category. Jack and Amy are the proud owners of this place. They have a HUGE menu selection and I find their food preparation to be very good. The place is very clean and I'm always happy after eating here. They also have a great lunch selection and it's worth having their lunch special.

Nice location with plenty of parking, wine & spirits store within the same complex. Consistently good food; excellent variety. Jack & Amy are great hosts.

I enjoy coming here because it is consistently good and satisfying food. It reminds me of the restaurant I went to in Brooklyn. There were three in the neighborhood and the best one was this caliber. This is the best one around here that is meant for family people looking for a good meal. The Sesame Shrimp is fantastic and so is the service. Very clean. Everyone is courteous and always say hello and good bye. From soup to dessert it is enjoyable and relaxing and not too noisy. The presentation is excellent.

Good food but funny that I overheard a few customers saying that they only go here if the main chef is here! I noticed a lot of loyal customers who seem to be patronizing this place. The takeout seems like it's always nonstop with people ordering and picking up, not too bad. The atmosphere is spacious and comfortable. It's got tablecloth dining and the wait staff is excellent. I plan to eat here again and will soon write another review to give it another star rating. But overall, it's decent.

I was very underwhelmed with the quality of the meat in all the dishes we tried. I will find a better option next time.

Golden Sea is pretty sweet. The food is delicious- I would say some of the best that you can find outside of the city. I've eaten here sporadically for the last 10+ years and I love the owners and the staff. They're always really friendly when you come in and usually they enjoy striking up a conversations.

The Best Eggroll ever !!! Really Good Wonton soup too! All dishes tried over the past year have been delicious. Both dine in & out. Great service & the owners are very welcoming to all guests. So refreshing to encounter such a friendly staff. Fresh orange slices with fortune cookies are a favorite added touch.

Fantastic Chinese food in the 'burbs...strikes the difficult balance of being high quality (fresh, non greasy) but also not uber-gourmet and expensive. While the location (strip mall, attached to a grocery store) may not inspire confidence, it is certainly worth a trip. Vibe wise it is very family-oriented, with lots of pictures on the wall, and smiles at the counter. Its BYOB, so I guess being next to a grocery store (which has a state store inside) is not such a bad thing after all. With prodding, they will do a resonable job of bringing the heat, but I can't help but think they nerf it for the non-natives. Overall, though, they do a far better job of just about any place within an hours drive that I can care to think of. A fine choice.

Just when I thought there was absolutely no decent Chinese restaurant in this area, I discovered Golden Sea with exhuberance! I'm a big fan of this place as a lunch spot. It's right around the corner from my office, and I can hop over there at lunch, get a tasty filling plate of food for less than $10, and go back to the office satisfied, if not in a food coma. Why does that always happen after you eat Chinese food? I mean, honestly?! The décor resembles that stereotypical Chinese restaurant you see all over the place - pink walls, fuscia-colored everything and everywhere, gaudy, fake flowers and black laquer accents. Very original. I mean, c'mon now! The service was impeccable. Fast, efficient and sorta friendly in that weird-cold-Asian way; just a lot of awkward smiles attached to a blank face. Can't blame 'em for trying. The food itself was great. When you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant, seeing a bunch of Chinese families eating there is a really good sign and that's what I saw. Definitely worth coming back to and I do.

This was my favorite chinese restaurant in these parts. Like every Saturday for lunch favorite. While the food is excellent the service at times can be spotty. Also the prices have been rising steadily (who's aren't?). The ambiance is good - about what you'd expect from a chinese place. They have a monstrous take out business - the phone never seems to stop ringing. As another reviewer mentioned there are alot of oriental customers - a good sign!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
